SIS Premium Meats – The Joy of Fresh Meat Since the 1960s

SIS Premium Meats is proud to be recognised as an SG Heritage Business, conferred by the National Heritage Board (NHB) in October 2025, an honour awarded to only 42 heritage businesses in Singapore. Adding to this milestone, SIS was also featured in NHB’s “Street Corner Heritage Gallery”, representing one of just 12 Indian heritage businesses in Little India—a testament to our enduring legacy and contribution to Singapore’s food heritage.

Founded over 68 years ago by our late founder Mr S. I. Samy, SIS began with humble roots at the old Tekka Wet Market in the early 1960s. Guided by an uncompromising commitment to freshness, quality, and integrity, SIS quickly grew into a trusted household name. Mr Samy’s relentless dedication ensured that SIS became synonymous with genuine, fresh, and ethically sourced meat, setting standards that customers relied on for generations.

Through the 1970s and 1980s, SIS expanded steadily, continuing operations at the new Tekka Market while growing into wholesale distribution. By sourcing premium meats from Australia, New Zealand, the USA, Brazil, and Uruguay, SIS strengthened its reputation for quality and reliability. In the 1990s, SIS emerged as one of Singapore’s leading mutton suppliers, serving wholesalers, restaurants, caterers, supermarkets, wet markets, and walk-in customers alike. Our operations expanded to include a retail outlet at Buffalo Road and a large warehouse facility at Fishery Port Road, supported by a dedicated and experienced team.

Following Mr Samy’s passing in 2017 at the age of 82, the business was thoughtfully rebranded as SIS Premium Meats Pte Ltd, embracing change while staying true to its roots. Under the tagline “The Joy of Fresh Meat Since the 1960s,” the company renewed its focus on customer centricity, innovation, and service excellence.

Today, operating from our current premises at 17 Chander Road, Singapore 219531, SIS Premium Meats continues to grow—supported by a loyal customer base and welcomed by a new generation of discerning customers. While we are honoured by our heritage and achievements, we do not rest on our laurels. We remain steadfast in our promise to deliver the freshest halal meat, sourced responsibly and served with care, consistency, and trust.
